1966 - Airport opened 1967 - Airport dedicated - FBO Agreement 1968 - Hangars & Office completed 1970 - Row of 6 bay hangars completed 1971 - Taxiway to runway completed- State Grant for $43,000 1972 - ADF Installed - Mike-A-Lite System at end of runway installed - 6 bay hangars constructed by Ken Glatt 1973 - Resurface runway $54,000 - More taxiways added $13,000 1975 - Replaced Mike-A-Lite System and added floodlights 1977 - Tree & brush removal |

1978 - HCAA purchased three hangars 1979 - Amendments to lease agreements - Paving in front of hangar, around gas pumps & driveway to the hangar $9,025. 1980 - Replaced beacon - Purchased strobe lights - Repaired runway cracks & painted centerline- $1,100 1981 - Adopted HC Airport Rules & Regulations 1982 - Replaced garage roof - Purchased land from Ralph Weaver- $18,119 - Repainted centerline & numbers on runway 1983 - Purchased additional land for future runway extension from Ralph Weaver- $36,238 - New hangar built by Green Valley Aviation 1984 - Received $50,000. Grant from State- (total cost: $92,500.) crack repair, resurfacing runway, 2 turn-arounds, west taxiway, west taxiway turn-off area, east taxiway parking area, east taxiway &east taxiway turn-off & from runway to the refueling apron. - Hired G.R. Bandy & Associated as consultants for H.C. Airport Master Plan - Tree & brush removal 1985 - Purchased 2 altimeters 1986 - Replaced monitor/receiver with antenna for ADF - Adopted FBO Agreement - Painted tower at airport 1987 - Purchased Seaman Corp. Factory building for $200,000 1988 - Purchased terminal building from Seaman Corp. for $25,000 - Domestic Aviation left in June 1989 - Hired Parks Aviation Services on 12/4/1989 1990 - Amended HC Airport Rules & Regulations - First set of 6 bay hangars became the property of the HCAA 1991 - Obstruction removal- $28,650 State Grant provided 90% funds - Crack seal & striping- $17,500 State Grant Provided 50% funds - Adopted new lease agreements for HCAA hangars - Completed Master Plan- total cost $44,000. FAA provided 90% funds 1992 - Hired Holmes Co. Aviation, Inc. on 12/21/1992; Larry Clark as Mgr. 1993 - Painted buildings - Surveyed Airport - Tree & brush removal done by Larry Clark - Received $100,000. Grant from the State with total cost of $130,067 for crack repair, resurfacing runway, east & west turnouts, area in front of large hangar west of gas pumps, east & west taxiways & drainage along runway- the actual resurfacing was done early in 1994. 1994 - Larry Clark became the owner of Holmes County Aviation on 8/1/1994 - More tree & brush removal - New roof on FBO hangar- $4,970 - Installed new panels in FBO hangar door - Repaired strobe lights - Installed new doors on west side of 6 bay hangar 1995 - New VASI lights installed - Finished crack repair & resurfacing aircraft parking ramp & T-hangar streets, received $32,501grant from State; total cost $45,047. 1996 - Installed Medium Intensity Runway Lts., & Taxiway Lts.- received $49,730 from the State; total cost of $55,255. - Installed insulation in FBO building ($350) & central air-conditioning $1,650 1997 - Rock Aviation Services started business in FBO hangar on 1/1/1997. - Built fence around airport at a cost of $4,999.20 - Purchased Bill Hill's hangar for $18,000 1998 - Updated Hangar Leases - UST Removal- $8563; tank replacement- $67,475. 1999 - Rock Aviation Services, Inc. took over the FBO operation on Jan. 1 - Received ODOT FY'98 Grant for Grading & Wind Tee Relocation $63,922 2000 - Received ODOT FY'00 Grant for AWOS III-$64,386; total cost $91,320 - Received ODOT FY'00 Grant for Tree Clearing/Obstruction Removal/ Runway Safety Area Grading- $123,766.- total cost: $140,407. 2001 - Dirt moving for aircraft parking area - Crack sealing taxiways & parking aprons - Received ODOT FY'01 Grant for Runway Repair & Obstruction Removal (Power Line)- $138,960. total cost: $154,400 - New roof on FBO building - $14,722 2002 - Land Acquisition for Approaches Grant- FAA- $41, 355. Total cost: $45,950 - Pressure wash & paint hangar roofs - $8,465 2003 - ORC compliance for UST - $5,550 - Received FAA Grant $179,200. T-hanger site paving, fencing, and lighting panel. total project cost $197,120 2004 - T-hanger construction to bay - $171,804 |
